CONCERNING THE SO-CALLED UPCOMING LOCK DOWN IN SIERRA LEONE, I WONDER IF THE SIERRA LEONE MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION, ALPHA KANU, IS GIVING THE WRONG INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC, AND THE WRONG ADVICE TO PRESIDENT ERNEST KOROMA ? Although the Minister of Information and other government spokes people have created a cloud of doubt and controversy over the pending lock down in the country, the newly appointed Coordinator of the Emergency Operating Center has cleared the air. Steven Goajia has said that they will not have a lock down as was paraded by the Minister of Information but a stay at home, house to house sensitisation which will be made up of community representatives, health workers and Non- Governmental Organisation. He made cleared that it would be a three days sit down as opposed to the rumour of four days which will on the 19-21 of September after the President may have declared the three days sit down on the 18 of September. He said that the team will include community volunteers as opposed to 21 thousands youths which the Information Minister said on international media will be trained He outlined the reasons for the sit down which are as follows: To reach every house hold with the correct information To enhance Community acceptance of persons with ebola especially children To introduce Hand washing with soap at household level as 1.5M bars of soap will be distributed To instil Public Confidence and trust in our health systems To encourage neighbourhood watch He stated that every household or family will be visited to inspire them, to apologise if the need be, to empathise; to inform them and for them to engage in a call to action at a house to house levels....
