*** CONDITIONS UPDATE *** Port Phillip Local Waters Forecast issued at 5:43 am EST on Saturday 3 May 2014 for Saturday until midnight. Weather Situation A cold front over western Bass Strait will evolve into a low pressure complex as it moves to the east overnight before deepening just east of Bass Strait during Saturday. The low will then move southeastwards over the Tasman sea on Sunday as another cold front is expected to move northeastwards from the Southern Ocean to affect Bass Strait on Monday, clearing the east by Tuesday morning. Gale Warning for Saturday for Port Phillip Winds: West to northeasterly to 10 knots tending southwesterly at 15 to 20 knots in the morning then becoming south to southwesterly at 25 to 35 knots in the afternoon. Wind easing to 20 to 30 knots tonight. Seas: Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres around midday, then increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres during the afternoon.
