CORONA: Rescuers find 2 lost hikers in Cleveland National Forest STEPHEN WALL / CONTRIBUTING WRITER Two lost hikers were rescued in the Cleveland National Forest Friday, Jan. 16, authorities said. Deputies went to the area of Trudy Way and Foothill Parkway in Corona at 11:39 a.m., after receiving a call of two hikers in need of assistance in the Cleveland National Forest, according to a Riverside County sheriff’s news release. One of the hikers, Ashley Esquetini, 21, called 911 and said she and her father, Jose Esquetini, 62, were stranded on a trail near a waterfall, the release said. Both hikers are Corona residents. Sheriff’s rescue personnel and a helicopter searched for the pair. The helicopter spotted them and a rescuer repelled down and got them off the mountain. They were not injured, officials said.
