CORRECT FORM IS IMPORTANT!! There are two major reasons why proper technique is so important when weightlifting. First of all, it prevents injury. If you use sloppy form, your odds of injuring yourself go up dramatically. Improper technique leads to dropped weights and weird muscle strains. The last thing you want as a weightlifter is to have to deal with a long term injury (trust me). Secondly, proper form gives your muscles the best bang for the buck. When you use proper form, you hit the muscles in the manner that the exercise was designed for. Improper form recruits other muscle groups and spreads the weight to different areas of your body. This is both dangerous and ineffective. And as an extra bonus, proper form helps you avoid looking like a gym idiot. You don’t want to be that guy in the gym who is raging all out on bicep curls with a 135 pound barbell and squirming around like a fish out of water on every single rep. You’re much better off using a lower weight and doing the repetitions properly. That is all. taken directly from bodybuildingfyi/the-importance-of-proper-form/
