COURT DATES EXTENDED FOR LAURA BAILEY BECKETT Court dates for Laura Bailey Beckett were extended last week in the 354th District Court of Judge Richard Beacom. Beckett’s pretrial date was extended from July 8 to Oct. 7, and her jury trial was extended from July 28 to Oct. 27. Beckett was arrested in February on two sealed indictments issued by the Hunt County Grand Jury on accident involving serious bodily injury-death and tampering with physical evidence. She was released from jail on bonds of $20,000 on each charge. The grand jury indictments were issued in connection with the death of Jackie Blaylock of Quinlan. Blaylock’s body was discovered March 17, 2013, on State Highway 276 in West Tawakoni. Beckett resigned from her position in Place 2 on the West Tawakoni City Council. She is represented by Sulphur Springs attorney Heath Hyde.
