CQWW160 Rules re Remote stations Remote operation is permitted under the following conditions: .The use of any receiver located away from the main site is strictly prohibited. .The use of a separate receiver at the remote control location is prohibited. .Any receiver linked via the Internet or RF not physically located at the main site is strictly prohibited. .If the remote station is located in another DXCC entity, it is required to comply with all local country regulations. With respect to the 3rd & 4th bullet rule. I have a remote SDR located within the VO1 call area but I am not permitted to use it to compete in the contest. I have it deployed in a quiet area where I can actually hear signals whereas at my home QTH in the city the band is all but obliterated by noise. However if I moved my remote SDR to any place in Europe I can use it to compete in the contest and gain advantage over those that do not have a remote SDR in Europe. Does that make any sense. ...or am I reading it incorrectly? Frank VO1HP vo1hp.ca
