CREATION Today the innocence of my home,sydney, was cruelly taken away, two brave souls , died, This is not the first time Australia has had to deal with this type of shock, but this is the first time , it has been in my home town. We are not talking about , turf wars, or drug wars, we are talking about innocent people , enjoying a drink or a snack. A scenario played out for 17 hrs , on our screens. Every Australian, no matter what religion or race, will feel the sadness, and the pain, surrounding this tragedy , please , creation, give them the strength to understand, to heal, and the wisdom to comprehend, the enormity of human grief. Sadly we , have all been through this pain , before, in tasmania, and on the occasions , where a single human , has decided to play god , and take the lives of innocent people into their hands, and we will keep going through this pain. Today i am angry, today i am shattered, that the country i love , is on the world stage , for the wrong reasons. Today i cry for the families , that have had the sad news that , there loved ones , will not be coming home for christmas. Today i worry about my children and grandchildren, today i worry about music lessons, school, movies, malls. Today i just want to take my family, my friends, my teams,my fans , and wrap them in cotton wool and keep them safe. But Today i also need to put my shoulders back and remember i am an Australian, i am tough, i am strong and so are the people around me . Today i cry for what has been, what has happened and what is to come . But i dont cry for the disturbed man, who took the life of 2 of my countrymen, my heart goes out to his family , who have to pick up the pieces and live with this act. I never cry for the inhumans who take the course of violence, in any form. But today , i send to the families who have lost their loved ones, who have loved ones in hospital, and who are dealing with , this act , my warmest, heartfelt thoughts. Nothing will sooth their wounds, nothing will take away the pain, nothing will allow the survivors to not look over their shoulders for the rest of their lives. Please creation , bring a little peace to them today to let them know that millions of Australians are thinking of them, and those they love. Creation, today i will walk out my door , i will go on with my life , but i will know that there is pain, there are questions , there is sadness, but i pray there will be hope , hope that we as a nation , can go forward , honour those who died, and realise that this act was the act of a lone mad man. Creation , today i will walk out of my door a proud Australian, proud of the innocent citizens of this country, proud , of the police , the rescue and negotiators , proud of the fact we will pull together and do what is needed.
