CROCK POT COWBOY BEANS: meat (browned hamburger meat; sliced German sausage; 1 lb cooked bacon; leftover beef or pork roast, chopped; leftover grilled meat, or any combo of the above); 1 large onion, chopped; 1 28-oz can baked beans with juice; 1 15.5 oz can kidney beans, drained; 1 15 oz can baby lima or black beans, drained; 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes with juice; 1/2 cup brown sugar, OR 1/4 c brown sugar plus 1/4 c molasses; 1 cup catsup; 2 Tbsp yellow mustard; 3 Tbsp Worcestershire;2 Tbsp vinegar OR hot sauce; 2 Tbsp pepper; water to add later if liquid gets low. Combine in slow cooker on LOW and cook 8 hours. I can not tell how many times I took this dish to work for Pot Luck Lunches, and there was never a bean left over. The more meat you add, the better.
