CYCLONE-Nellie Toler 84, became an angel Wednesday, May 21, 2014 following along illness. Born May 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Edna Buckner. Nellie was a homemaker, a member of Toler Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. You never left Nellie home without being feed she was always giving to her family, church and community. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Blaine Cook, Jr.; second husband, George W. Toler; two sons, Larry “Bear” Cook and Jerome “Jay” Cook; a grandson, Larry Blaine Cook; a brother, Namen Buckner; a sister, Naomi Buckner. Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Rev. Roland Cook and wife, Peggy and Wesley Cook and wife, Evelyn; two daughters, Ruby Lusk and husband, Carroll and Cynthia Gail Hamon and fiancé Thurman “Deke” Watts; six brothers, Norwood Buckner and wife, Emily, Nelson Buckner and wife, Rosie, Ned Bucker and wife, Gay, Norris Buckner and wife, Deanna, Norvel Buckner and wife, Patsy, and Norman Buckner; four sisters, Nina Smith, Nancy Faught and husband, Gordan, Norma Jean Bentley and Nan Jarrell; fourteen grandchildren, Lawrence “Doody” Cook and wife, Amber, Michael Cook and wife, Tabitha, Jason Cook, Kim Vance and husband, Jeff, Rev. Eugene Cook and wife Renee , Stephanie Ellis and husband, Darren, Jeff Cook, Ben Cook and wife, Jessica, Chris Cook, Ethan Cook, Ryan Cook and wife, Tiffany, Tyler Cook, Grace Toler and husband, Marty and Leslee Lusk; seventeen great-grandchildren; two special friends, Fannie Rollins and Dovie Lusk; and a host of family and friends. A celebration of Nellie’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, 24, 2014, at Toler Baptist Church Cyclone with Rev. Merle Walls and grandson, Rev. Eugene Cook officiating. Nellie will be laid to rest in Cook Cemetery, Cyclone. Casketbearers will be her grandsons.
