Caerphilly Residents – Please Share Officers will be carrying out extra patrols throughout Caerphilly town this weekend on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night to deal with and prevent any anti-social behaviour by large groups of youngsters hanging around areas of Caerphilly. Increased patrols will be seen at: The Railway Station and Bus depot on Cardiff Road, opposite Tesco’s (by Caerphilly Castle) and several residential streets within the town, including: Broomfield Street, Bartlett Street, Windsor Street, Nantgarw Road and Morgan Jones Park. It has also been brought to our attention that youngsters are using social media to plan to meet in large groups and as a result, we are seeing more cases of minor damage, and an increase in reports of youths verbally abusing residents – which can be very intimidating for older members of public who have to walk past or live near this sort of behaviour. Officers are asking all teenagers to make sure that they aren’t involved in anti-social or criminal behaviour; otherwise they will be dealt with. Parents – if you know that your children gather with their friends in the town centre in the evenings, please pass this information on to them. Your support is greatly appreciated.
