California was an amazing experience. I got to compete on the worlds biggest stage for Jiu Jitsu and it was an incredible learning experience for me. I had 4 matches, I won 3 which put me in the quarter final and then lost to the eventual champion in a close match. For the past year Ive dedicated my life to Jiu Jitsu and competing, even though I was able to win smaller regional tournaments in Ireland and Europe I always had an uncertainty on whether my training was good enough for me to progress to the highest standard of competition, but now my mind is rest assured with faith in my abilities after this experience. Competing in Jiu Jitsu will be my path for the foreseeable future. This year I have lost a total of 3 matches, two of those three opponents were the finalists of my division in this years Worlds. I have so many people to thank for always supporting me without fail, most notably my Family, Coach Darragh, Team mates, Friends and everyone within the Irish Jiu Jitsu community! All my physical preparation was done in CrossFit/Bray Strength & Performance Gym and I have to give a serious thank you to Alan and the rest of the CSP team for always providing a quality atmosphere and getting me in the best shape Id ever been in! Im going to make a new Facebook profile alongside this one purely for posting about Jiu Jitsu...Im going to upload all my matches from Worlds there so be sure to check it out when I post a link! Heres a small highlight of what we all got up to last week :) youtu.be/b3W3NPu4I5Q
