Call me an idiot, a chestbeater, unimportant, or a non breeding, - TopicsExpress

Call me an idiot, a chestbeater, unimportant, or a non breeding, non showing nobody all day long. Fact is, it matters very little to me. What matters to me is that like MANY others, I am disappointed and disheartened by recent events in our organization, and not simply this QH issue. I LOVE this breed, I love many of the fine people I have had the good fortune to meet through my passion for the Arabian horse in the last 45 plus years. For me, a sense of equal community, integrity , and fairness seems imperative for growth and support. Hypocrisy doesnt cut it. When our own breed mission statement is not followed, from non Arab related horses being allowed to keep wins they were ineligible for, to knowingly abusive and at the least, iffy training practices, to culling via slaughter and dumping of good horses that simply did not make someones star list, to gaming of score cards, the act needs to be looked at hard, and cleaned up. If that makes those of us who have the guts to say so idiots and trouble makers so be it. For us, it is all about a true love of the breed and the Arabian communikty, and a strong desire to see REAL change. ,Change that matters for the long term. Change that is welcomed and embraced by those now sitting back and not participating, due to the growing perception that it is all smoke and mirrors. We are better than this. We have the most versatile, honest horses in the world. We need to be worthier of them than some of us have been shown to be.
