Call me silly if you like but I thought posting the acknowledgements I wrote in the dissertation would be the best way to mark graduation day :) I would like to start by showing my sincere appreciation towards all the individuals who accepted to be interviewed for this study. Without their participation this research exercise would not have been possible and it is to them that I owe many of the insights that helped me shape my thoughts within this dissertation. A very big thank you goes to my supervisor, Dr Nicholas Vella, for having believed in the potential of this research exercise and for ensuring that I put in it my very best. It would have been very difficult to stay focused without his constant guidance. And an equally big thanks to my co-supervisor, Prof. Mark-Anthony Falzon, for having introduced me to qualitative research methods and for excellently preparing me for the interviews I carried out. Thanks to our discussions, I have managed to put in this work slightly more than simply an archaeologist’s perspective. I cannot fail to mention and thank my ex-colleagues at Palazzo Falson Historic House Museum. Our everyday encounters with visitors and the way we faced and handled situations together not only inspired me to pursue the subject of heritage presentation, but also taught me how important the element of experience is in museums. Thanks also go to my present colleagues at the University of Malta Valletta Campus, who have supported me immensely in the final months of writing. When everything seemed too over-whelming, they were there to convince me that I can do it.
