Campaigning in September. This weekends partial debates offered a number of observations. Leading off with Orman. He is a full-fledged Democrat and lies as well as the best of them. His reasons for being an Independent are his own, but read his political page and listen to his debate answers - if he will lie and mislead you now, he will have no qualms doing it in office as well. We do not need that. He wants to play at politics. Next, where has this Pat Roberts been? Kansas - you finally have an active, involved candidate. The Senator showed his own fiery brand of enthusiasm and gave conservative politics a boost. This would have been nice to see since last year and especially would have been a great Wolf/Roberts debate. The Senator has a very long voting record and the hill he still has left to climb is that he is perceived to have adopted this conservative bend only very recently. The question on a lot of peoples minds and tongues this weekend was How long will this last? and Can we trust him? or If we send him back, will he change again?. This is the campaigning, Senator, that you have owed your constituents. You have a democratic opponent masquerading as an Independent. You need to show where he is wrong. You need to tell voters how you will get **action** in DC. And you need to prove to those who are suspicious of you changing back to a moderate that you will champion conservative causes and --- this is key ---- get results due to your position. The other debate just proved that we have a very active race here. The Governor spoke well, but that we expect from him - he has long been in the political arena. Weve heard Umbehr speak previously and it is a shame he was not included as they are both smart, articulate men.
