Campaña “24 horas de vigilia por la patria en reclamo de un mejor sistema de justicia” Buenos días amigos y amigas periodistas. Mediante la presente misiva queremos anunciar al Pueblo de Lawrence que a partir de mañana viernes 4 de Octubre a las 7:00 AM en las esquinas de Broadway y Common iniciamos una Campaña nacional por 24 horas, por el cambio en el sistema de justicia corrupto e inhumano que tenemos en Republica Dominicana. Esta campaña consiste en pedirle a la población que apoye y reclame un cambio en la forma y en el fondo del accionar de la justicia dominicana en especial en lo referente a procedimientos contra la corrupción y en los procedimientos constitucionales de identificación ciudadana.. El apoyo que queremos de los ciudadanos y ciudadanas consiste en detenerse (por el tiempo que puedan) junto al grupo de ciudadanos que permaneceremos por 24 horas de pie, sin comer, sin dormir, sin tomar agua en vigilia por la patria. En los últimos años hemos visto como nuestro sistema de justicia se niega a darle curso y a aplicar la ley a todos los que día a día están utilizando los recursos del estado para enriquecerse de manera ilegal. Como los corruptos actúan impunemente. La ley no actúa en aquellos que venden los recursos minerales de nuestra Nación dañando de manera irreversible el ecosistema y, cuando interviene, como en el caso del Tribunal Constitucional es para favorecer intereses de un grupo que controla la Nación.. No podemos permitir que esta situación continúe pasando.. Queremos un sistema de justicia limpio y justo para nuestra patria. Donde los corruptos y delincuentes reciban su justo castigo y donde no se permita el abuso contra nuestro medio ambiente ni contra nuestros ciudadanos. Dr. Wazar Gómez Alfred Potter Juan T. Vázquez Luis Pichardo Por el Comité Gestor "24-hour vigil for the country to demand a better system of justice" Dear reporters, We’d like to hereby announce to the people of Lawrence and Boston area that starting tomorrow Friday October 4 at 7:00 am at the corners of Broadway & Common St for 24 hours, we will began a national campaign for changes in the Dominican Republic’s corrupt and inhumane justice system . This campaign is to ask the public to support and claim a change in the ways of the actions of the Dominican justice especially as it relates to anti-corruption procedures and the legal procedures for citizenship determination. We ask those that support the idea to stop (as long as they can) with the group of citizens who will remain standing for 24 hours, without food, without sleep, without water in vigil for our country. In recent years we have seen how our justice system refuses to follow up and apply the law to those who use state resources to enrich themselves illegally. All while numerous acts of corruption continue to happen with impunity. The law does not act against those selling the mineral resources of our nation hence, irreversibly damaging our ecosystems. When the justice system gets involved, as in the case of the Constitutional Court it is in favor of the interests of a group that control the nation.. We cannot allow this situation to continue going on. We want the justice system to be fair in our country. We want the corrupt and the criminals receive their due punishment.
