Can a machine have soul? I was never sure before, but now i know. Damn right it can. I present to you the finest four cylinders ever carved out by the hands of man. I bought the White Magic (Mazda B2300) brand new in 2003, and proceeded to drive her 223,000 hard miles all around this brutal damn country. Never could go too fast but man was she reliable. There for me, every morning, without fail. From LA to New York and back again i cant count how many times. Test mixed every record ive made in almost 12 years through her speakers and they still sound killer. Laughed, cried, slept, awoke, and almost died behind her wheel but never once did she let me down. Caravanned across a flooded salt flat deep down in Baja behind two big pickups twice her size and shes the only one that made it out. We had to turn around and tow those cats out of there, tails between their legs. Showed em whos boss. Flew under the radar of the man, never once got a ticket. Not one accident, barely a scratch. Well ok, we kinda backed into a pole once, my fault, she didnt even get a little bit mad. I was tired and stressed, she understood. Through the worst Manhattan traffic jams, to the deepest midwestern snow storms, to the shores of San Onofre, she always pulled me through. A true friend. Shes lived with me in Highland Park, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Hollywood, and for the past few years, has lived a surf trucks life in Ventura, California. A noble way to spend the golden years. The stories could go on endlessly, but ill just tell you people ive never loved a machine like i have this one. Its with heavy heart and countless memories that i pass her on but shes still going strong and ill bet my bro J.P. is gonna get another good few years out of her if he knows how to treat a lady. All things must pass, and long may she run. Shine on White Magic, you are loved, and then some...
