Can the Influenza A Virus possibly be a blessing? In this household, yes! Mookey came home from school after first hour today. He was pretty miserable. He had all of the flu symptoms, so I made him an appointment with the doctor this afternoon. After diagnosing him with the flu, we started discussing his heart pains, which have increased in frequency and intensity this past week. (He came home early on Friday after an exhausting, miserable day that included four episodes.) When looking at his records for some previous big episode dates, we were suddenly surprised with some rest results that we had been told didnt exist! The doctor was shocked to see them there. In of the shuffling of files to get records into their new system within the past couple of years, Mookeys heart monitor results finally surfaced. The real blessing... We finally have answers and can seek treatment. We had been told by a Quack at Primary Childrens that they were unable to get any of the episodes on the monitors during the almost two month period that we fought with the dumb heart monitors every day. (This guy no longer works there. He was pretty bad.) Today, we SAW the results of FIVE recorded episodes. Mookey left the doctors office today, not only looking forward to feeling better from the flu, but knowing that there is finally HOPE for RELIEF from the heart problems that have plagued him for the last five or six years! He now has a medication which may help and a cardiologist will be contacting us soon make an appointment to discuss our options. The flu sucks...but oh what a beautiful silver lining!
