Canterbury Earlwood Caring Community CentreYOUTH GROUP PROGRAM term 4 Friday the 17th of October • Part 2 of workshop- Henna tattoo/Design 4.30pm-5.30pm Discussion on face-painting challenge. All youth who participated have the opportunity at youth group to paint a mates face and be in the running to win $50.00 for best painted face. This challenge will also give some students the opportunity to be offered work opportunities with Eleni Lekkas in the future. Certificates will be issued upon completion of today’s course. • Youth will submit 4 hour volunteer experience on line to see if they are eligible for an Optus corps reward of $75.00 ticket master ticket. • Discussion on Optus corps program being offered in January 2015 holidays • Finish craft from last term( youth to finish and take home) Friday 31st of October LET’S CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN- Trick or Treat Watch out Earlwood here come your local young spooks.... • Young people will come dressed as their favourite fun/scary character • Youth will walk as a group around Earlwood and collect treats from homes which signify that they are involved in our trick or treat afternoon. • To celebrate Halloween we ask each person to bring a plate of food to share and to come with a Halloween game/idea that everyone can be involved in on the day. LET’S GET SPOOKY TOGETHER.... Friday 14th of November Preparations for Christmas Stall • Youth will help prepare/organise and get ready for our Christmas stall in December (ALL MONIES RAISED FROM THE DAY WILL GO TO EARLWOOD YOUTH CONNECT GROUP) • Participants who attended both face-painting and Henna design workshops will today paint a mates face and submit to Eleni the facilitator to be in the running to win $50.00 and an opportunity to work alongside Eleni in the Art/ Entertainment industry. YOU HAVE TO BE IN IT TO WIN IT...... FRIDAY 28th of November Canterbury Hospital visit • Our group will entertain and spread some good cheer to those isolated by illness in hospital over Christmas. • Our aim is to spend some time with the patients to help break down loneliness /and for those who may not have family/friends to visit while they are in hospital for long periods especially around the festive season. • Youth will be armed with goodies to spread around and we will entertain by singing a variety of Christmas carols involving the patients. • All youth are asked to wear Christmas colours for this special visit. Friday the 5th December Christmas street stall 10-2pm • Christmas stall will be held in front of Coles • Youth who will be working this day please let Fiona know as positions are limited. • I am also looking for 2 students from the face painting workshop to offer face-painting to the community as part of CHRISTMAS STALL.. • All funds raised go to youth group activities STUDENTS WHO NEED A LETTER TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY PLEASE SEE FIONA LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED AT 2.30PM FOR STUDENTS TO SAY THANKYOU FOR GIVING UP THEIR TIME TO MANAGE THE STALL Whilst having lunch Milly from Optus corps will give a brief talk about the Optus corps program and how youth can get involved.....
