Canterbury Horse rides... On Behalf of Mark and myself, we have come to the end of yet another year.. Last winter while out on a ride with Mark and Whitney, I was giving Mark a hard time after he had come off his horse, threathening to write some smart ass comment on the website about it.. He laughed with the comment.. if you give me a hard time I will start my own site to write things about you to get you back...... so was born the Canterbury horse rides.. I think that was back in June from memory, since then Mark has accepted some 460 odd new members to this club.. an astonishing number interested in our rides... Since winter, I have tried to organise interesting and varied rides to cater for all comers.. from experienced.... right thru to nervous beginners venturing out very bravely with us for the first time... Its been very interesting watching riders along with their horse develop together as a unit so to speak.. many riders initially commenting that rides were too long.. of tired horses. sore bums and legs.... however after a few consecutive rides these comments seem to disappear.. Mark and I plan these length of ride on purpose... to give both rider and horse a little time to jell...... and I have to say... many after a few rides have blossomed.. full of confidence and nicely relaxed.... We have met a lot of new faces over this first 6 months, and hopefully less excuses and more new faces coming along next year... Next year Mark and I are going to incorporate the odd overnight camping rides for interested folks, along with a whole lot of new and interesting places for our usual Sunday rides.. Its been my pleasure to organise all these rides and love all of your nice comments after each of them... Next year.. onward and upwards.... Merry Christmas to each and all of you folks in this Club..... Cheers tony
