Captains Log Day 3: Today has by far been the best day of our voyage. We started off the morning by visiting the Drayton Plantation is Charleston, SC. The home and the land surrounding it was amazing. Pictures will be posted when I return. The Drayton family history was quite fascinating. The last Drayton to live there was in 1964 and she chose (along with the member before and after her) not to modernize the house with electricity, running water or bathroom plumbing. If you ever get a chance to visit any plantations in South Carolina I strongly encourage it! We then travelled to Savannah, Georgia where we took a trolley ride through the historical district. Again, pictures to follow, but we got to see where Forrest Gump was filmed, saw original buildings where trading of cotton, rice, etc happened, and BEAUTIFUL homes that I could only dream of owning! Had we stayed the night here, we would have taken the Ghost Tour of the town as it is in the top 3 most haunted of America. After Savannah we drove to Jacksonville, Florida where we have stopped for the night. I didnt have any issues with muffins today, however, my quest for a Krispy Kreme continues. Ive noticed the graffiti along our voyage to be quite different compared to back home. Instead of gang signs I see Have a Nice Day, instead if profanity I see Smile and instead if racial slurs, I see Trust Jesus. I find this very intriguing. Day 4 should finish our voyage as we will be ending in Orlando where we will be joined by my first mate and, umm.... Mother. (I cant think of a sea occupation that would be appropriate) Until then...
