Cardboard Challenge Malaysia A family day of invention, creation, imagination and lots of fun…. History It all started with 9 year old boy Caine Monroy, designer and builder of his own games arcade during the summer of 2011. Caine invented and built all of his games using readily available materials such as cardboard boxes and old toys. It wasn’t until Nirvan Mullick, a film producer looking for a spare part for his car, stumbled upon Caine waiting outside his arcade that had been constructed in the store front of his father’s auto parts shop. Nirvan immediately recognized the unique and creative effort the boy had put into his business. He was in fact the first client to purchase a ‘fun pass’ and play the arcade games that Caine had so carfully constructed. Mullick was so inspired by what he had seen he decided to create a flash mob event and a short documentary about Caine. The flash mob event was an unqualified success attracting thousands of visitors from the USA and internationally to come and play at Caines Arcade. The documentary ‘Caines Arcade’ was a viral phenomenon that to this date has had more than 4 million views on your tube. The spinoff of this extraordinary meeting has been the formation of the Imagination Foundation. The Imagination Foundation has embraced the original idea of Caines creative genius and business acumen, and now encourages groups globally to organize events (Cardboard Challenges) based on the theme of creating anything you desire from readily available materials such as cardboard and plastics. Caines Arcade and the Cardboard Challenge is now a global phenomenon that has seen hundreds of thousands of children worldwide embark on their own creative adventure to design and construct whatever it is they desire during a special day of educational and highly engaging play.
