CaringBridge update by Mitzi and a great reminder to be thankful for what you get to do! By Mitzi Hasty - An hour ago Sorry I havent updated since my last post. Morgans scans that she had last Monday showed stable disease and we are so thankful for that report!! Thank you God! Our doctor did determine that she was having a drug reaction to the chemos, but at last Tuesdays (29th) appt, he was not sure which chemo might have caused it. It was very painful for Morgan and she could not walk for 3 days because of how much it hurt her feet. Her hands were affected by the reaction and they hurt too. Starting Wednesday night, the pain started to lessen and we were so thankful for that. The next stage of the reaction was itching. That was very irritating for Morgan, but the itching also ran its course, and she is over that now. Her skin is almost back to normal. Morgan was scheduled for chemo this week, but with the reaction, Dr. Cramer decided to give her this week off from chemo. We were in Birmingham yesterday (5th) for a checkup though. He wanted to see how she was doing to decide what steps would be taken going forward. He was pleased to see that Morgan was doing better. We will go ahead with chemo next week, but it may be at a reduced dose. We would appreciate your prayers for her not to have another reaction and that God would continue to give us direction in what is best for Morgan. We are so thankful for the stable MRI, but she is still having some head and ear pain. Dr. Cramer started her on another medicine and we are praying this helps with her pain. School starts next Wednesday and we are planning for Morgan to go. The first day is not a full day, only an hour, so she should be fine. We are only going to do what she can handle and take it very slow and easy. I know she loves school and I am hoping this will give her some things to look forward to. As a new school year rolls around and the busyness sets in with homework, projects, sports, etc., I would like to give you a gentle reminder. Our children are a precious gift from God - each second of the day, each breath - all a gift from God. You may already live your lives with this in mind, but if not, consider this - if we could all look at the things in life as what we get to do, not what we have to do. You get to wake your children up every morning, you get to buy school supplies, you get to watch them play sports and do tons of activities... the list could go on and on. Not just with school, but with your job and everyday life. Never take for granted what God has blessed you with!! May we seek Him in all things and may He be glorified with our lives! Thank you always for your prayers! We love and appreciate you all so much! Isaiah 53:5 ... by His stripes, we are healed. Praising Him, Mitzi
