Carl Wentworth, a 47-year old Worcester, Mass. man who is walking from Boston to Los Angeles to honor members of Americas military, walks along Highway 78 toward Jasper today. The real-life Forrest Gumps sea-to-shining-sea journey coined Walking for Heroes was launched more than four months ago on Veterans Day. Wentworth estimated he walked about 30 miles today. My shirt is completely soaked, he said this evening, about two miles from the city limits of Jasper where he is spending the night before continuing his journey on Thursday. Motorists who recognized Wentworth showed their support of his cause with a honk of their horns as they passed him. While in Jasper, Wentworth attended a Bible study at New Generation Ministries. He is spending the night at Travel Rite Inn, which is allowing him to spending the night at no cost. Wentworths is allowing those he meets on his journey to send a message to troops via his facebook page: https://m.facebook/walkingforheroes.
