Carrie Kelly Palmer asked For those of you who assumed your dog - TopicsExpress

Carrie Kelly Palmer asked For those of you who assumed your dog had allergies (from either food, seasonal, and/or outdoor environment), without actually doing the extensive allergy testing, and you decided to switch foods to see if itd help...did you try a grain free food first or try specifically a different protein source first? There are technically different kinds of food allergies and Im hoping to be economical about this being I just had a baby a month go so thats another mouth to feed. I do not want to put my dog through allergy testing at this time. My blue merle Dane will be 4 years old in November and thats usually the age allergies seem to recognizably pop up. She is not on a grain-free food now (not all grains in small amounts are bad) but she isnt on a bad food either. I also add yogurt and coconut oil to her food which makes her coat beautiful. What brand(s) of grain-free foods and/or different protein source did you choose and why? Which brand(s) did you not like and why?
