Carrriacou & Petite Martinique Carnival Development Committee Digicel Carriacou Carnival 2014 MEDIA COVERAGE FOR EVENTS PRESS RELEASE Hillsborough, Carriacou Tuesday, 25 February 2014: The Carriacou & Petite Martinique Carriacou Carnival Committee notes with concern the number of media entities on Carriacou and mainland Grenada advertising the carrying of live coverage of the 2014 Digicel Carriacou Carnival Shows. While the Committee is happy with the interest shown in the 2014 Digicel Carriacou Carnival, it must be noted that to date, only two Media entities have approached the Committee for permission to carry the events live. The committee is concerned that several media houses are actually out seeking sponsorship to carry the shows live without permission. It is the view of the committee that media houses are seeking to raise revenue at the expense of the Committee. Although we are grateful for the interest expressed in our carnival, we must insist that all media houses wishing to carry the events live seek the necessary permission. The Carriacou & Petite Martinique Carriacou Carnival Committee is the sole producers of the Digicel Carriacou Carnival and reserves the rights to all events. It is the expectation that all persons and media houses wishing to carry the events live adhere to proper protocol. The committee would be more than willing to work along with anyone and can be contacted for arrangement re accreditation.
