Carson and I have been overwhelmed by the responses of love and support from my post yesterday. Many of you asked to be kept up to date. I had another appointment with my neurologist this morning, where I was able to look at my MRI and develop a treatment plan. My MRI shows that my brain lesions are limited mostly to one area and one side of the brain (with no brain stem involvement). This is great news. I will have an additional MRI within the next few months of my spine to make sure there are no lesions there, but she is optimistic that it is limited to my brain. I had another IV steroid treatment today and will have 3 more this week, along with finishing up my oral steroids. This will jump start helping me recover from my current flair up, although it may some time for my current symptoms to go away. We started the paperwork to begin insurance clearance for Rebif, an injection that I will take 3 days a week to help prolong the time in between flair ups. It can be months or years between these flair ups, and we have no way to predict the frequency. Please continue to pray that I feel better every day, the side effects of the Rebif will be minimal, and that I respond well to the Rebif and have an extended remission until my next flair up.
