Casting Net: Garrett Hedlund, who starred in Tron: Legacy and has a small role in Inside Llewyn Davis, has been offered the role of Hook in Anna Karenina director Joe Wright’s Pan. The Warner Bros. project, penned by Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift), will have a new take on J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan tale. In the origin story, Hook is (initially at least) Pan’s ally. According to the report, Hedlund beat out Jack Huston and Ezra Miller for the role. Hugh Jackman is still in contention for the part of Blackbeard. The film is already set for a June 26, 2015, release. Robert Zemeckis (Flight) is reportedly courting Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Don Jon) to star in To Reach the Clouds, a narrative interpretation tightrope walker Philippe Petit who was profiled in James Marsh’s documentary Man on Wire. TriStar is currently hoping to acquire the project, which would be shot in 3-D. Ben Kingsley (Iron Man 3) will play an Egyptian pharaoh in Shawn Levy‘s ever-expanding Night at the Museum 3 cast. His co-stars include Ben Stiller, Rebel Wilson, Owen Wilson, Robin Williams, Steve Coogan, and Ricky Gervais. Sarah Paulson (12 Years a Slave) is set to join Todd Haynes‘ Carol, an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s novel The Price of Salt starring Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett. Yolanda Ross (Go for Sisters) will join Jennifer Lopez and Viola Davis in the indie drama Lila & Eve about mothers looking to take revenge against the people who killed their children in a drive-by shooting.
