Cathys New Years Novel :D I turned 40 this past year. Ever since I hit this milestone Ive been really thinking about the things I have faced, learned and experienced in my life up to this point. All of the reflection has me feeling so very thankful and appreciative that I am healthy enough to get out of bed every day, exercise, work, take care of my loved ones, do so many things I love and simply live. There are many sick and/or disabled people in our world who are unable to enjoy a nice walk out doors or even in doors for that matter! :( I feel blessed beyond measure for this privilege! And I feel blessed for so many things Ive had the opportunity to learn and experience this past year as well as the abundance of personal growth I have earned and discovered within me because of it all. I had no idea that I was capable of doing half of the things Ive done over the past couple of years... I have overcome my fear of the dreaded handstand and now that I am a pro it is time to move on to handstand pushups in the coming year. I can also deadlift more than my body weight and believe it or not I have actually performed the toes to bar maneuver a few times but it is still a work in progress. I am proud to announce to the world that I no longer have the upper body strength of a two year old thanks to Crossfit Stephenville. and all of the awesome new friends I have made at the Fitness Center. I also joined Kickboxing, which I really enjoy! Never thought that would ever be my thing lol! I run every morning I am able and, amazingly, I can now run a max of 9 miles, consecutively, thanks to my new found love of running and most importantly to ditching the smoking habit (a personal journey that began Sept. 6, 2012). Running is so much more fulfilling than smoking and I surely am thankful for every breath these days! Next step is a half marathon in the spring...I will get there. A year ago I did not even know most of these exercises I have been doing even existed! Another new thing I have experienced is that have found I am capable of liking dogs, maybe even loving some of them. Although my kitties (and of course every kitty on this earth) will always be first in my heart when it comes to my preference in pets. I loved and lost a very special dog this past year, my beloved grand dog Marty. He taught me that not all dogs are annoying and in doing so, stole my heart. My Creator, Hubby, and 3 amazing children are my foundation and I love you guys so much
