Celebration at St. Paul Catholic Church honors devotion to Santo Niño from all over the world TAMPA – For twenty seventh year in a row, St. Paul Catholic Church is honored to celebrate the Feast of the Santo Niño de Cebu, the Holy Child, at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, January 18, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 12708 N Dale Mabry Hwy. This devotion takes place each year and is characterized by the Filipino heritage through novena prayer, singing, processions and the main event being the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of Mass and Sinulog dances thereafter, all to honor the Holy Child. The prayer of the Mass will invoke God’s blessing upon the faithful devotees and visitors, their families, friends and loved ones. A reception in the church’s Family Center will follow. The image of Santo Nino de Cebu came to the Philippines in a missionary sprit. In this same spirit, Santo Nino calls us to live, witness and share the gift of faith with ardent zeal in the different parishes in this diocese and the world. Although rooted in the traditions of Cebu, this devotion also reminds us of European Catholic roots identified with the Infant of Prague and Latin American experiences of the Divino Niño. Make sure to visit the Santo Nino shrine, connected to our entire parish, which honors our treasured “unity in diversity” and our openness to the world to which we extend the customary St. Paul hospitality and welcome. All are welcome to the Feast of the Santo Niño! For more information, call the St. Paul Catholic Church office, (813) 961-3023.
