Ceyda Sungur is my hero right now. If you can handle it, look at the first of the four images that capture the sequence of the attack. Her hair is hiding her face, but you can see the way she stands, not just instinctively braced but alert, defiant. She looks like a revolution all by herself. According to the Guardian interview, this is what she said afterwards: "A lot of people no different from me were out protecting the park, defending their rights, defending democracy. They also got gassed." She might be reluctant to be seen as an icon, but she still went back every day to the protest in the park.
