Challenging last few days up at Groundswell--we ran out of kerosene for the main house heater just before the weekends cold snap; most of us have been sick ranging from low energy to several days of flu-like symptoms (me!) ; and this morning with temps around 30 degrees our waterlines froze for about 10 or 12 hours; Thank goodness for piles of firewood and space heaters and time to rest. Nonetheless we had some really fun and productive meetings as Groundswell Institute develops, step by beautiful step, in which I also started and completed a toasty new scarf out of a huge spool of sage green chenille yarn a friend gave me that I have been cranking out projects from the last year or so in my NO MORE NEW YARN TILL THE OLD SUPPLY IS GONE!!! movement ... (see pic). With the cold, each morning this week the entire valley is utterly fogged in, really spectacular to watch it burn of gradually in the late mornings (see other pic!). Tonight: hanging out with two other human Groundswellians and a variety of four-leggeds in the house, we may watch The Normal Heart after dinner, and then a late NY Skype date with my honey in SoCal. Very best New Years wishes to everyone reading this and blessings for a 2015 of presence on whatever path you karmically came here to travel, with love and faith. May there be peace on Earth, beginning in our hearts each and every moment. Heron
