Chamber Post In Support Of The Police Unity Tour: (BASKING RIDGE, NJ) Just a few hours ago, over 400 Police Bikes came through Bernards Township on their way to Washington D.C. as part of the Unity Tour. The Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty. The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum. Police Officers and PBAs get pledges per mile and hold events to raise funds towards the annual effort. Riding support motorcycle for Bernards Township Police Department is Officer Alex McKnight. On Bike is Ofc. Peggy Corsentino. Riding on Bike from Long Hill Township Police is Sgt. Dolores LoPresti, Sgt. Aaron Buerstetta, Ofc. Matthew Newschwander and Ofc. Melissa Sugalski. These Officers are joined by hundreds of fellow Police from across New Jersey to ride from East Hanover to Washington D.C. for the cause.
