Change. Something that is always happening. But oftentimes fought, hard. Some things change on their own. Like seasons. Other things need to change, like behaviors, attitudes, body weight, structures, systems and many different things. If you want to change your physical appearance due to being overweight, you have to change a few things that are simple and hard. If we want to lose those extra pounds, we have to start by having a plan. There are many different plans that can effect the desired change. One is to stop drinking sugary drinks. Another is to start drinking more water. You can also change your entire food plan. You can go from eating the less healthier foods to eating a cleaner more balanced diet that helps burn unwanted fat. You can also add an exercise plan that can go from simply walking a couple of miles a day to an aerobic routine to hardcore weight lifting. Each one will produce results. When you combine them in any way, you exponentially change your body. Using weights and proper diet is not easy. It is difficult. At least to start. But as we continue to work the plan, we see tremendous results a lot faster. Many of us know this so the question is why am I saying this? If we want to see change to anything, we have to start somewhere. Just as their are a gazillion different ways to change your diet that will change your body, their are equally as many ways to change mindsets, ways of doing things or traditions that are now ineffective. By now, you probably know where Im going with this. If we want to see change come to what we all love and enjoy, the church, we have to start somewhere. Ignoring it will leave us with what we have now. It will continue to exist and function but not at its optimum design. Just like our bodies. We can maintain our bodies as they are, flabby, fluffy, easily tired, no endurance and no strength with chronic health problems that will show up later in life. But if we make the changes NOW, we can increase the bodies potential and effectiveness for later by extending its longevity. The church is maintaining. Were weak, malnourished, compromisers, emotionally, physically and spiritually out of shape. Were simply existing but not LIVING! Just like the ones who are sedentary after 8-10 hour work days who barely have the energy or strength to live life after work. Were lethargic, impotent and waiting on the next big thing or the next big personality to rally behind that gives us the short lived momentum that quickly fades away. Some people have a plan but not using it. Others are working a plan but others dont like it. Some may find it difficult and not appealing but theyre working it and seeing some results. If we would all work a plan with the same goal in mind, we can see results faster. The end result is to have a church operating by design, a glorious, powerful, life giving, city transforming force to be reckoned with! Whats your plan? Will you work it? It wont work unless you work it! Much like the weight rooms around the city! One answer is right in front of us, but we have to want to change!
