Changeable weather conditions tonight across the region. Periods of rain through mid evening, mixing with and changing to snow by midnight, continuing through daybreak on Monday. The snow may fall heavy at times from Wausau on to the S&E. Because temperatures have been above freezing the last few days, slushy accumulations will be found on area roads toward morning. Bridges and overpasses will be the most slick and icy as air temperatures fall below freezing. However on non-paved surfaces, the potential snowfall breaks down like this: -Up to 1 in Medford, Phillips, and Winchester -1 to 2 from Neillsville to Merrill, and Rhinelander -3 to 5 including Marshfield, Wausau, Wisconsin Rapids, Stevens Point, Shawano, and Clintonville. It will be breezy tonight with lows in the mid 20s to around 30. Lingering morning snow showers Monday, otherwise mostly cloudy and brisk. Highs in the mid to upper 30s.
