***Chantal Update*** even though Chantal is no more doesn’t mean it is still not a threat. As it leaves the tropic islands it is moving into some very warm waters and has more than a 40% chance of regaining strength into a tropical cyclone and possibly being named again. Its current path will bring it into the South Carolina and Georgia coastline sometime late this weekend. What does this mean for Virginia and Maryland area and coast next week?? You guessed it, the potential for more RAIN and some wind. With that in mind you have to take into consideration all of the rain this area has already received and that it has caused the root system to every tree to weaken considerably. With the potential for more rain and some minor gusty winds it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out some trees could fall with a slight breeze. My chainsaw is tuned and fueled up already! Looking into at the next 48 hours into the Atlantic there is a good possibility of at least one more tropical cyclone forming.
