I took it out definitely risking my phones life because if they catch me now Mrs zungu will definitely confiscate it. Neos name was flashing on my screen. He texted me his address and a message that I found rather interesting was when he said Ill sure enjoy working with you more than the others Ms I couldnt help but smile from ear to ear. I waited for mom and surprisingly today she came earlier than before I clambered in the car and showed moms Neos address explaining that well be doing a school project and thandeka will be there too. Its only school right ? Yeah I reassured. Okay then . She warmed the engine and we hit the road. A part of me was excited you know ? All the hatred and the bitterness I had for him flew out the window. Mom kept looking at my phone multiple of times and packed nearby this too big for my liking house. We clambered off. Mom following me of course . They exchanged greetings and mom gave her her numbers in case anything happens to me. His mom gave me a smile and directed me to the lounge. A melodic sound came from that direction. I walked slowly .. And there he was he was playing a piano hes concentrating, playing beautifully, lost in the melancholy of the music. I hesitate, watching from the shadows not wanting to interrupt him. He looks lost, sad even, and achingly lonely - or maybe its just the music thats so full of poignant sorrow. He finishes the piece, pauses for a split second, then starts to play it again. I move cautiously toward him, drawn as the moth to the flame... the idea makes me smile. He glances up at me and frowns before his gaze returns to his hands Oh crap, is he pissed off that I am disturbing him? That so-lost-lonely facial expression he had disappeared it was replaced by a smile. I-i didnt mean to interrupt me I said uneasy. No no you didnt I didnt know you play that I said. Oh theres a lot of things you dont know about me Millie. Come on try a few notes Uh me ? Playing a piano. With the courage I didnt know I had I walked over and sat next to him on the piano sit. We were a few inches apart. He held my hands and clear his throat. He directed my hands and I dont know what key I pressed but what I know the sound pierced in my eyes and causing me to squeal. He giggled. Are you laughing me Neo No no Im not Millie he said trying to hide to his laughter. This is easy you know playing the piano and all come on lets try again He held my hands again not now that my body did not tense. Voices were exchanging words in the other room but we both didnt care. Youre really good at this he said full of sarcasm. Very funny Neo He didnt say anything but now looked at me. Uh why are you looking at me like that ? I asked shyly. Its just youre really beautiful Millie . Thanks I said. Dont mention it . Silenece overwhelmed us. Hi ! Zeni said placing her back on the couch we both moved inches away from each other. Shes probably used to this house than I am. I see some of us came early here. Were you teaching her to play that ? Youd never let me touch it Can we start with the project ? Wheres Thandeka ? Neo said totally ignoring Zeni. I felt a tad special when Zeni said she never let her touch it but me well he offered.
