Charity bike ride between football grounds Cyclists will pedal in a Nottingham-to-Derby-and-back fundraiser on Sunday 21 September. The 36-mile route starts at Notts County’s Ground at 8.15am, and will go through Long Eaton, Borrowash and Alvaston on the way to Pride Park, before returning to Meadow Lane. They will raise money for Sporting HEARTS – a charity which helps to raise youngsters’ aspirations, improve attendance and attainment at school, reduce bullying and increase self-esteem, self-confidence, and tolerance. It works with organisations such as the Nottinghamshire YMCA, Catch 22 and Jimmy & Jack CIC on joint projects. The charity hopes to raise more than last year’s total of £6,000. This year all entrants need to raise a minimum of £100 with half of the money going to their chosen charity and half to Sporting HEARTS.
