UCSB Sustainability seeks an experienced fundraiser and event promoter to join the team organizing the annual California Higher Education Sustainability Conference (CHESC). ($19.48/hr. at 50% time. Primary Consideration Date: 9/30/2014.) Apply for this unique opportunity to contribute to the statewide effort to integrate sustainability practices and principles into the four systems of higher education in California, the California State University, University of California, California Community Colleges, and private and independent colleges of California. As a Public Events Manager, this position will primarily work on building relationships with sponsors, fundraising, and marketing/promoting the event to stakeholders at higher education campuses throughout the state. The Public Events Manager will work closely with the Sr. Public Events Manager (Katie Maynard), our host campus, steering committee, and an array of stakeholders across the state. The position will be hosted by the Department of Geography at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Each year’s conference is in a different location in California, so some travel for site visits will be expected.
