Middle Tennessee State University Department of Art Murfreesboro, Tennessee CALL FOR ENTRIES SHOEBOX: AN INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE EXHIBITION January 16–February 14, 2014 Todd Art Gallery: For the complete prospectus visit: SHOEBOX A juried competition and exhibition that will feature 3-D work designed to fit within the confines of a typical shoebox, with each applicant free to use a shoebox of choice, from baby-size shoes to boots, as the dimensions of their work. The juror is Michael Aurbach, a professor of art in sculpture and drawing at Vanderbilt University. His achievements include a term as president of the College Art Association (CAA) and service as coordinator of its Career Development Workshop, an annual mentoring program. A past recipient of the Southeastern College Art Conference Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement, Aurbach has also received numerous grants and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Southern Arts Federation, and the Tennessee Arts Commission. CALENDAR November 8, 2013-Deadline for discount application fee December 2, 2013-All entries & fees must be received by this date December 16, 2013-Artists will be notified of the status of their entries January 7, 2013-Accepted works due at Todd Art Gallery. Accepted artists cover shipping costs to Todd Art Gallery. Return shipping will be covered by the exhibition at no cost to the artist. January 21, 2014-Reception & Juror awards Return shipping will be covered by the exhibition at no cost to the artist.
