Thank you all very much for the words of encouragement and well wishes. Im about 11 hours post-op and I think Im doing well. Im able to get up/down on my own and am walking pretty well...just bent over (abdominal surgery). The pain has its moments, but so far, so good. Of course, Robert is being his typical perfect hubby-like self. Hes been here through every step and is spending the night with me (very nice private room). I rarely post work-related topics, but I have to acknowledge how blessed I am to have the job I do. They made this possible by the paid time off and paying for my surgery directly...insurance company said no. I will never again complain about my benefits. Guaranteed.
