Check your credit report! It is a good idea to check your credit score a few times a year to make sure there are no errors are in your report. Believe it or not, a large number of credit reports contain errors. You can contact all of the three credit reporting agencies, Transunion, Experian, & Equifax to provide you with your current score, your credit report, and explanations of your score. Having your FICO score and credit report before you apply for a loan will provide you with time to correct any inaccuracies and time to potentially raise your score.
