Italy October Current Account Surplus Rises Italys current account surplus for October grew from a year ago, data from the Bank of Italy showed Thursday. The current account surplus rose to EUR 5.46 billion from EUR 4.13 billion in the same month last year. The merchandise trade surplus grew to EUR 5.55 billion from EUR 4.35 billion, while the surplus in the services trade fell to EUR 197 million from EUR 208 million. The capital account surplus eased to EUR 934 million from EUR 960 million a year ago. Meanwhile, the financial account turned to a surplus of EUR 10.29 billion from a deficit of EUR 5.16 billion in the same month last year.
