Cheech and Chong can’t go wrong… Now the names Cheech and Chong may well be synonymous with the Grammy Award–winning comedy duo of Richard Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong. However, when we here at Edgar’s Mission hear those names we immediately think of our latest piggy arrivals Cheech and Chong. Cheech, the larger of the two patchwork sibling boys, and Chong recently arrived at our sanctuary by way of a rural country pound. Found wandering at large, the recalcitrant twosome’s predicament was most certainly nothing to laugh about. Whilst their one time human carer was known, their escape artist antics had proved too great a challenge and in the lock up they did languish. With pigs holding a very special place in our heart, we determined to give these two something to smile about. Now here at the sanctuary, a much needed trip to the vet has curbed their pubescent hankerings and the young lads are now slowly acquainting themselves with belly rubs, watermelons and the touch of human kindness. Cool piggy fact- did you know that pigs are incredibly clean animals, and given the chance will even establish their own toilet area away from where they eat, sleep and play? Even newborn piglets will observe these standards of good housekeeping and personal hygiene! So while our new buddies, Cheech and Chong can’t go wrong, we humans certainly can. Please choose wisely, act kindly and watch the seeds of your kindness grow. If we could live happy and healthy lives without harming others... why wouldnt we? edgarsmission.org.au
