Chef Chrissys Cuisine Chat! This week Chef Chrissys little chefs made veggie nuggets! Recipe: 8oz of frozen mixed veggies 1 egg 1/2 cup of Panko bread crumbs 1/2 tsp of salt 1/4 tsp of garlic powder 1 1/2 tbls of olive oil ----We added in a cup of mozzarella cheese and a 1/2 cup of milk! We also used a blender to make our veggies easier to manipulate into nuggets with out veggies escaping all over our cookie sheet :) We then also rolled each nugget through extra bread crumbs so they were crunchier! Bake for 15min and 350 then flip and bake for an additional 15min.....we then dunked them in Light Ranch Dressing....Because everything is better with a little Ranch! I choose this recipe mainly because we have been getting more adventurous with eating our veggies...YAY Kiddie Academy Kiddos! We also have some gluten free friends so this is a great treat for them since the Panko bread crumbs are gluten free! Our 4 year old friends really enjoy getting to smell and see each ingredient before it is added to the mixing bowl and our 2 year old and 3 year old friends love the mixing and portioning part of the cooking process!! All of our friends TRIED our tasty treat this week!! We changed our recipe some this week and this particular project was messier and more time consuming then some of our other cooking classes but overall it was well perceived and we got the chance to try something that looked different then the veggies we are use to seeing-which is a big step!!
