Chemo Round 5 tomorrow. Begins with lumbar puncture with triple chemo into his back at 9:45 and chemo infusions later in the day. Chemo day is usually fairly smooth for him other than disliking anesthesia and having to lay flat after the LP. It will be the one week post-chemo when counts nadir that is tough. Something that occurs to me that I have learned in this process of fighting lymphoma - all cancers are different. They require different kinds of chemo at different doses and different intervals. Radiation also. Different amounts, different locations, different side effects. New words such as nadir are in our vocabulary. And maybe yours now too. But it just basically means your immune system is gone. There are 0 white blood cells in the body. We appreciate your prayers. We feel peaceful and ready to go this next round. A little sad to have to fight at all. But prepared and content knowing this is the right choice for Angel. He is happy playing with some of his closest hospital buddies tonight.
