I worked in a local CPA firm for 10 years before working for private construction firms as the CFO the last 17 years. Volunteer Information: I started volunteering in the classroom when the kids were in Kindergarten. I served as the PTO Treasurer for 4 years and continue to consult as needed. I also chaired or co-chaired several committees. I work at the Buckeye Valley Food Pantry once a month. Honored in 2011 with the BV Baron award for volunteering. District Level Committees/Commitments: I have been on the Student Achievement Committee since September 2008. I joined the Finance Committee in September 2011. I have attended the Communications Committee meetings since January 2013. I have been attending Buckeye Valley Board of Education meetings regularly since April 2011. I attended the Ohio School Board Association Candidate Workshop on September 7, 2013. Thoughts: As both a parent and a community member I believe it’s our responsibility to be involved with our children’s education and to continually look for ways to improve the quality of our schools. I believe a school board member should be someone who is willing to listen to the ideas of others, takes the views of those individuals into consideration along with factual documents and forms an opinion. This should always be done with the main focus being what is best for the majority of the children in the district. I think when the children are in the forefront of our minds and we set aside personal agendas then the children, parents and community members all benefit! I would be a strong candidate for school board because of my professional background, my commitment to the district and my common sense approach to solving problems. I appreciate your support!
