Chew On This 2013 WNBA Preview The 2013 WNBA playoffs begin on Thursday, September 19. Here is a preview and my predictions for the first round. Washington at Atlanta The first and second round series are best of 3 while the finals are best of 5. Atlanta has been a playoff regular the last few years. They are led by 20 points per game scorer Angel McCoughtry, an All-WNBA performer, who is the leader of the Dream. Erika De Souza is a solid player as well. Washington played well this year and snuck into the playoffs. I expect Atlanta to win 2-1. Indiana at Chicago Indiana won the title last year in a surprise against Minnesota. The Fever are led by Tamika Catchings, whose dad Harvey played in the NBA, mostly with the 76ers. Indiana suffered some injuries but will have Katie Douglas back. Chicago is led by Rookie Of The Year (and possible MVP) Elana Delle Donne, who can score and rebound. She led the league with a free throw percentage of 93%. The Sky also have Sylvia Fowles inside and guard Epiphany Price. Look for Chicago to win 2-1. Seattle at Minnesota Look for Maya Moore and Simeone Augustus to lead the way. The Lynx won the 2011 title but lost last year. Seattle played without injured stars Lauren Jackson and Sue Bird. Take the Lynx to win 2-0.
