Chewonki Day of Hunger Statistics at a glance: 109 Chewonki Semester School students, faculty, and staff are consciously choosing not to eat 109 total meals in the dining hall today as a part of a Day of Hunger in order to give the money Chewonki would usually spend on those meals to St. Phillips Food Pantry and to raise awareness about hunger insecurity in the local community. Work Program this week has been devoted to baking 23 lbs of granola and 20 loaves of bread or a cost equivalent of of $97.50. Thank you to Semester 53 students in the Farm and Food System Class who helped to conceptualize this idea and bring it to the larger community.
