Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj... First of all, my respectful salute to the great Maratha King Shri Shivaji Maharaj on his birth anniversary... The best tribute to Shivaji Maharaj will be if we recall his great qualities and try to adopt at least one of these qualities in our life... The first & foremost, he built Maratha Kingdom virtually from scratch and against all the odds stacked against him or local community in general.. He gave the strength & instilled self respect amongst the people.. Can we show the courage to fight against establishment..? Can we fight for justice & self respect..? He always lead his army from the front.. He never hesitated to take on the challenges himself.. He took the enemy by horn.. Can we lead our family or society or office team with the same courage..? Can we be the leader with the strength & wisdom to take on the challenges..? He used the tactics or brilliant ideas, whenever he knew that his muscle strength was lesser than that of his enemy.. He never allowed his ego to prevail upon the common sense.. At times, he conceded many of his prized assets keeping in mind the long term interest of his empire.. Can we control our self ego in the longer interest of ourself & our family..? He showed a great respect for people from all the communities, religions, castes and also for women.. He ensured equal & even justice for everyone.. He gave strictest punishment to the culprits to instil the respect for law & order.. Can we, or to be precise our politicians, learn something from this..? There are many more precious qualities that can be listed here.. But this wall is insufficient to accommodate them all.. One must read his entire biography to understand a bit of this great leader Shivaji Maharaj... Finally, no matter how much propaganda we make to mark the anniversaries of great leaders, until & unless we ourselves learn and follow some of their teachings & qualities.. Jai Shivaji... Jai Bhavani... Jai Maharashtra... Har Har Mahadev...
