China, since 2000 has greatly expanded its global connections, and diplomatic relations worldwide. In 2010 China became the world’s second largest economy and the world’s number one exporter. China, not only did well-established trade with the United States and Europe, but also greatly expanded its trade with Latin America and countries in Africa. China had become a powerful global power; this brought China a warm welcome in some regions but also raised concerns in other regions. China’s foreign policy stressed the country desire for a ‘peaceful rise’ and the aim of shaping a ‘harmonious world’. Non-interference policy has been serving China well since 1954.The policy originates from the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence: mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in each other’s internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence. I am enormously pleased that President Ghani unlike the former president, has brilliantly determined his foreign policy and realized the key role of Beijing in term of regional economic integration, promoting reconciliation talks between the disputant parties in Afghanistan and other issues of common interests. I regard the four day trip of president Ghani greatly significant for the future of Afghanistan which will pave the ground for Sino-Afghan close partnership.
